Tuesday's midterm drew a big early crowd. Hill Country News reported that both Williamson and Travis counties saw substantial increases over 2022. KUT says nearly half of registered voters in Travis, Williamson and Hays counties had already cast a ballot as of Monday.

That count was reported Monday.

  • Travis County record: highest early midterm turnout since 1998
  • Also beat early turnout for the 2012 presidential election
  • Some registered voters missing from the system had to vote provisionally

Celia Israel, Travis County's tax assessor-collector, said her office finished inputting voter registrations last week, so the system was updated for Nov. 3.
