Daniil Trifonov — A Solo Piano Recital

About this event

Described by The Times of London as the most astounding pianist of our age, Daniil Trifonov is a Grammy Award-winning phenomenon. Named Musical America’s Artist of the Year and Gramophone’s Artist of the Year, Trifonov won medals at three of the world’s most prestigious competitions in a single season: the Chopin, Rubinstein and Tchaikovsky competitions. An exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist and a composer in his own right, Trifonov’s solo recitals are events of rare intensity and beauty. At The Mansion, his program spans Handel’s Suite No. 5, Stravinsky’s Piano Sonata and Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy before turning to works by Juan Francisco García, Villa-Lobos, Landestoy, Ginastera, Guarnieri and Trifonov himself. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for dinner and an open bar; the recital begins at 7:30 p.m.
