Hutto's 150th anniversary Hippo Dash 5K run/walk

About this event

The event includes a 5K Run/Walk , Kids Dash , race-day activities, awards, and a finish-line celebration. Participants can enjoy a paved course, timed results, a custom race medal and shirt, raffle prizes, and recognition for top finishers.

Race Day Schedule

7:00 AM – Race Day Packet Pickup

7:45 AM – Community Group Dance

7:50 AM – National Anthem & Announcements

7:55 AM – Warm-Up

8:00 AM – Kids Fun Run, followed by the Adult 5K

8:20 AM – Kids Awards Recognition Opens

8:55 AM – 5K Awards Recognition Opens

9:30 AM – Course Closes

10:30 AM – Event Officially Ends

Give Back to the Community

The Hippo Dash is also supporting the Hutto Resource Center Food Pantry through the Hungry Hippo Drive. Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable dessert items, such as boxed cake mix, canned frosting, or canned pie and fruit filling, to packet pickup or on race day.

5K Run/Walk: Adult and youth registration options are available.

Kids Dash: Open to ages 3–10.

Volunteer Then Race Free: Adults 18+ may also have an opportunity to volunteer before the race and participate afterward
