- ➤ Leander ISD released its graduation schedule for the Class of 2026, with ceremonies to be held in May at the Rouse High School auditorium, the Don Tew Performing Arts Center, and the H―EB Center. The schedule shows New Hope High, Geiger Compass Center, and Early College High holding their ceremonies on May 13, 20, and 28 respectively, while larger events for Cedar Park High, Vandegrift, Leander, Rouse, Vista Ridge, and Glenn are set for May 29–30 and will be livestreamed. - ➤ Eighth grader Siddharth Vazhkudai (of Running Brushy Middle School) was named one of 30 national finalists (in the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators competition) yesterday. Hill Country News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Williamson County will host a household hazardous waste collection event on Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Central Maintenance Facility in Georgetown in partnership with Waste Management—county officials say the event promotes safe disposal—and invites all county residents. Residents may drop off automotive fluids, cleaners, pesticides, fertilizers, and up to five gallons of paint or solvents per vehicle—volunteers will unload items and each car is allowed only one trip—to safely dispose of hazardous materials.
