- ➤ On August 13, a Leander ISD school bus carrying 42 passengers crashed on Nameless Road near Palomino Ranch Drive — nine children and the driver were taken to the hospital — and parents said they received an email notification about the incident at 7:55 p.m., nearly five hours after the crash. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On August 8, 51-year-old Efrain Lopez-Gorostoeta was arrested in Travis County after a Cedar Park Police Department investigation into a large-scale meth ring led to a chase where he rammed police vehicles—officers recovered about two kilograms of drugs and a stolen firearm while he now faces charges of aggravated assault on a public servant, drug manufacturing and delivery, and evading arrest.
