- ➤ A Travis County judge ruled Shane James Jr. competent to stand trial in the 147th Criminal District Court after a state mental health evaluation restored his capacity to face charges for killing his parents in San Antonio and four others in Austin in December—he will face a pretrial hearing on August 25. - ➤ Community members near Leander reported being stuck after a flood damaged their only bridge—residents said the broken structure cut off their neighborhood and delayed work.
