- ➤ TxDOT launched a safe driving campaign to warn drivers to slow down near work zones ahead of Work Zone Awareness Week from April 21 to 25. The agency set up 215 traffic cones to honor those killed in crashes last year and says drivers must avoid distractions to keep everyone safe. FOX 7
- ➤ On April 16, the USDA cut funding from two programs that help the Central Texas Food Bank feed local families—removing 40 truckloads of food worth about 716,000 meals. The agency approved $260 million in new purchases for the TFAP, though the food will arrive later. FOX 7
