Leander ISD trustees voted March 12 to name its first early childhood center the Ada Mae Faubion School for Early Childhood in honor of a longtime educator.

The school will open in fall to expand early learning opportunities for local families.

Leander ISD trustees named acting superintendent Chris Clark as the sole finalist to lead the district, with a contract vote scheduled for April (his appointment will be finalized if approved).

The Texas Department of Emergency Management will conduct a test of alert systems on Thursday, Apr.

2 to review local emergency processes, asking agencies including local governments + school districts to update state officials on the drill's success.
