About this event
Born Kimberly Sowell in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Mesquite, Texas, Kimberly M'Carver has been singing and dancing since childhood. She was a music voice major in Dallas and UT Austin, while dancing professionally in fashion shows. She also received degrees in anthropology and veterinary science.
After moving to Houston from Austin, M'Carver started writing songs, fronting cover bands, and performing at songwriter open mics. After sending a homemade tape of her songs to Rounder Records, they visited Houston to see a live performance - and offered her a recording contract on the spot.
To say that Kimberly M'Carver has carved out an impressive resume is an understatement. She has toured with Jim Lauderdale, opened for Guy Clark, Radney Foster, Junior Brown, Karla Bonoff, John Gorka, Johnny Paycheck, Gary P. Nunn, David Allen Coe, Jimmy LaFave, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Leo Kottke, Loudon Wainwright, Robert Earl Keen, Riders in the Sky, Tom Russell, etc. She has also played some legendary venues. including Lincoln Center's Outdoor Concert, Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival, Houston's International Festival, Glasgow Scotland's Big Country Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, and venues including the BlueBird Cafe (Nashville), Anderson Fair, McGonigel's Mucky Duck (Houston), Passim's (Boston), Cactus Cafe (Austin), The Ark (Ann Arbor), Birchmere (D.C.), Iron Horse (Northampton), and many more.

"Lynn Crossett began playing music while he was also beginning his professional journey as a college student in Austin, Texas. The highway that he hopped on leading him to success in the legal profession always had a parallel service road toward singer-songwriterdom. He now lives in San Marcos, Texas and teaches there full time as a law professor at Texas State University. …
