About this event

Would you like to spend a golden autumn afternoon wrapped in music, community, and a little bit of magic?

We are so happy to invite you to our 16th Young Hearts House Concert on Sunday, November 8th, 2026 , a cozy, love-filled gathering centered on great music, good food, and meaningful connection.

THE MUSIC

We're thrilled to welcome Austin's own Dave Scher , a jaw-dropping guitarist, soulful singer, and true multi-instrumentalist. He has toured the world alongside guitar legend Eric Johnson, and fellow musicians call him one of the best players they've ever heard. Blues is his home base, but he wanders happily into jazz, funk, and country, so expect a few surprises.

And a special treat: Alyse will join Dave for a few songs together during the afternoon. 🎶

THE FOCUS

As the holidays and colder months approach, we're gathering to support the Central Texas Food Bank , helping make sure our neighbors have food on the table this season. Even better: Heart of Austin Homes will match every donation made through the event. Your gift feeds twice as many people. 💛

DONATIONS

We suggest $20 per person , or more if you're moved to. No one will be checking, and if you don't have it, please don't give it a second thought. We just want you there. If you're able to give more to help feed Central Texas families this winter, we'd LOVE that.

Donations go through our 100% pass-through nonprofit, Young Hearts Foundation , so every cent reaches the Central Texas Food Bank.

WHY

These concerts have become something truly special: intimate, warm, and full of genuine connection. We gather to listen with our hearts, support great artists and meaningful causes, and share space with people we love (and people we're excited to know better).

WHEN

Doors open at 3:00pm for food, hugs, and hanging out.

Music begins between 4:00 and 4:30pm , and we'll enjoy the sunset together during the set.

WHERE

In our backyard (or living room if the weather says otherwise).

5007 Timberline Drive, 78746

FOOD & DRINK

We'll fire up the grill for burgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers, with chips and snacky veggies on the side. We'll have water, sparkling water, and juice; please bring any other drinks you'd like.

BRING A LAYER

It's lovely in the afternoon, but it cools off quickly once the sun goes down. A sweater or blanket will make you very happy around 5:30.

CHAIRS

If you have camping or fold-out chairs, we'd love the help.

VIBE

This is a listening-room-style concert, with minimal talking during the music so we can really be present together.

KIDS

Always welcome. ❤️

We would love nothing more than to share this afternoon with you.

With love,

Alyse + John 💛🎶

🎶 ABOUT THE ARTIST: Dave Scher

Musician. Arranger. Composer.

Dave Scher picked up an electric guitar at age 10 and has rarely put it down since, except to play mandolin, fiddle, bass, piano, or organ. A staple of the Texas live music scene, he spends nearly every day playing music, either his own or someone else's. He has toured with Grammy winner Eric Johnson , playing keys and second guitar, has performed with Fastball , and has sat in with the Kill Tony Band .

As a frontman, Dave leads his own band, writing and singing his own songs alongside inventive arrangements of classics from every genre. He has released two full-length albums, an EP, and the live record Back Burner Live , and he has played the Continental Club, the Saxon Pub, the 04 Center, and stages across Texas.

His voice may be his secret weapon: powerful, warm, and full of feeling. Even Tony Bennett noticed and told him, "You sound really great!”

❤️ ABOUT THE CHARITY: Central Texas Food Bank

The Central Texas Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization in our region, serving 21 counties from Austin out to Waco and the Hill Country. Working with hundreds of local partners like food pantries, soup kitchens, and after-school programs, it helps more than 530,000 Central Texans facing hunger each year. In this area, about 1 in 7 people, and 1 in 5 children, don't always know where their next meal will come from.

The holidays and winter months are especially hard for families stretched thin. Money donations go further than donated food, because the Food Bank can turn every dollar into more meals than we could buy at the grocery store.
