Latinx Critical Creative Consortium (LCCC) Graduate Student Professionalization Day 2026

Saturday, November 7, 2026 | 8:30am–4:30pm

Latinx Pop Lab, Patton Hall (RLP) 4.102, UT Austin

Join us for our annual Latinx Critical Creative Consortium Graduate Student Professionalization Day! Graduate students and advanced undergraduates from across Texas will gather at UT Austin with faculty from UT Austin, Texas A&M, SMU, and beyond for a day of mentoring and workshops.

The day begins with dulces y cafecito, followed by mentoring sessions with critical creative activities woven throughout, including zine-making and other maker spaces. We break for a yum-scrum lunch (noon–1pm) with plenty of time for networking.

This year’s sessions cover:

• Speed pod mentoring

• Publication strategies

• Exam and prospectus development

• Conference abstract writing and presentation skills

• Dissertation support

• Accountability and time management for writing

• Public-facing publications

• Essay-to-article development

• Fiction and nonfiction publishing

• Teaching tips for today’s classroom

Bring your ideas, conference abstracts, seminar papers, exam lists, and chapters to share with faculty mentors.

LCCC is free and open to all students, whatever their background or field. Breakfast and lunch are provided, and $300 travel stipends are available for students and faculty coming from out of town.

Students: RSVP here by Sunday, October 18.

Faculty mentors: RSVP here .
