About this event
Join the Center for Middle Eastern Studies during UT Austin's International Education Week for a screening of The Time That Remains (2009), a tragicomedy from the acclaimed Palestinian director Elia Suleiman. Drawing on his father's actual diaries, letters his mother sent to relatives who had fled the Israeli occupation , and his own recollections , Suleiman recounts the creation of the Israeli state from 1948 to the present.
Professor Emily Drumsta will introduce the film and offer context and reflection for viewing.
