About this event
You know those trees? The ones you walk past every day — that shade your favorite trail, shelter your backyard, drop fruit on your driveway, and house your songbird and squirrel neighbors?
This fall, we're getting to know them on a personal level. Each session in this three-part series dives into a different local tree through hands-on sensory exploration: touch the bark, smell the leaves, taste what's edible, and hear the stories that connect these species to our land and our community. You'll leave with new skills, a craft to take home, and a deeper relationship with the trees around you. Join us for one session or all three!
November 14 — Juniper Jubilee Let's set the record straight on "cedar"! They are actually not a cedar at all! Our junipers are native trees, providing critical habitat for the Golden-cheeked Warbler. We'll smell and touch the bark and berries, sip juniper lemonade, and craft our own fire starters and juniper bundles.
